Abstract

The paper presents a methodology for evaluating the integration of wind and photovoltaic farms with hydrogen generators. Alkaline and PEM generators were analyzed. The method for determining their work characteristics, thermodynamic, and economic features was shown. The obtained green hydrogen was used for the production of electricity or fuels. In the first case, by examining the use of hydrogen in fuel cells, the impact of partial efficiencies on the overall efficiency of the Power-to-H2-to-Power system was determined. In the second case, the obtained green hydrogen was used to produce methanol, SNG, or ammonia in Power-to-H2-to-X installations. The impact of selected process parameters on the efficiency of these processes was studied. The obtained fuels were used in different energy systems.
